"Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long." --Proverbs 23:17.

All too often, we look at what the world has and what they do, and say, "I wish I could do that." In reality, God protects us from so much by telling us to not do these things. For example, let's just look at sex before/outside of marriage. If we never get involved with it, we never have to worry about STDs, AIDS, getting pregnant (or getting a girl pregnant), or waking up next to someone we don't know wondering what in the world we did the previous night. God gives us such great freedom from worry and pain that comes with the world's corrupted version of "fun," but we look at what we're missing (the pleasure for a season), when we should look at what we're missing (the consequences)! There are so many examples, and I would elaborate, but you get the point. Who do you trust more: God, the Almighty Creator Who loves you enough to have died for you, or the world & Satan who want to see you burn right along with them?
