"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before." --Philippians 3:13.

One of our main problems as Christians is that we get stuck in our past, whether it be our past sin or our past accomplishments. Both are equally deadly, and both can equally hinder our walk with the Lord. If we get stuck in our past sin, then we will never claim the victory which God has already given in order to beat it. If we get stuck in our past accomplishments, we will always be afraid to move forward for Christ either in fear of failure, or worse, a sense of complacency. We never get to retire as Christians, but we should always be striving to further advance the cause of Christ. Are you stuck in the past, or will you "press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus"? (Philippians 3:14).
