"Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established." -Proverbs 15:22, KJV.

God gave us the ability to get advice for a reason--it can help keep us out of trouble. While not all advice is good, if one genuinely is seeking the Lord's will and asks godly counsel, God will reward it. However, if we go in to a situation headstrong and just do what we want without considering what God would have us to do, then we are setting ourselves up for failure.

Graduation season is upon us, and, with it, college choices. College is by far one of the most important decisions we can make in our lives, and yet we pick them for the most random reasons. How about instead of choosing College A for your reason of (fill in the blank here), you ask God and godly counsel if God instead would have you go to College B (or C, D, E, etc.). Just remember, the only One able to truly know where you should go to college is God Himself, Who reveals Himself through His Word and through godly counsel.
