"Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm." -Proverbs 3:30, KJV
All too often, we as Christians get into arguments that are really meaningless in the perspective of eternity. The Bible here clearly tells us that we are not to really get into arguments or fights, unless we have been [actually] wronged. It is far too easy to take offense and see a statement as a wrong, but this is mostly dealing with physical harm. Of course, we need to defend ourselves, but we should not use self-defense as an excuse to make an attack. Our defenses should be just that--a defense.
