"Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man." -Genesis 9:6, KJVGod was very clear that He made us in His image. In addition, this verse (directly after the flood), begins the directive for capital punishment for the world. While the laws, covenants, etc. that come after Genesis 11 usually refer to the children of Israel, this law comes before that point where God is still dealing with universal origins. And He did this on purpose. God wanted everyone to be aware of and follow this law--that those who kill should be killed. We should be much more obedient to God on this issue.
