"It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter." -Proverbs 25:2, KJV
God, in His almighty wisdom, hid the very Object of His glory, and within two years, some kings came to search it out. I don't know about you, but I've personally never thought of Proverbs as being a Christmas passage, but this verse so wonderfully explains why Jesus was born in a stable--not in a palace with fanfare and the honor due Him, but instead in humility and concealment. The concealment of Jesus was a part of Jesus' glory and gave the wise men the opportunity to gain honor. What a wonderful God to do all this, even in the birth of His very Son.
"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." -Hebrews 13:8, KJV
