"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." --Ephesians 2:10.

This verse comes immediately after the famous Ephesians 2:8-9 passage which tells us that we are saved by grace and that it is not of works. The problem is that most people stop there. Verse 10, however, tells us what we are supposed to do after salvation. We are then supposed to do good works! Now, these works are not for salvation, but rather to show our thankfulness to the One Who died and gave everything for us. Before we were saved, it was ordained that any Christian should walk in the works and service of God (not that certain people were ordained to walk in Him--just look at the grammar here! That is not what this verse says.). We have become the work of His hands--a new creature in the eyes of God. Are you living up to the fact that you're a new creature, or does the old man still rule?
