"For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth." --2 Corinthians 10:18.

All too often, we as Christians start thinking about how good we are, but forget to realize that it doesn't matter what we think about ourselves (regardless of what the world thinks). What matters is what Christ thinks of us. He is the One Who has created us, saved us, and now watches over us, and the only thing that truly matters in the end is how Christ sees our service (or lack thereof). We will not be approved by our own opinion; we can only be approved by the Lord.
