Every Christian faces this dilemma. Paul the Apostle is writings, and in a passage of complete openness to the reader, he writes that even he (one of the spiritual "greats") battles with his sin nature on a daily basis. It is easy to see yourself as failing, but we can never be perfect until we reach heaven. All we can do is our best and use 1 John 1:9 as needed. While we should not live in sin (Rom. 6:1-2), we must not let Satan use our slips to keep us away from serving God with our lives, and realize that He loves us and will one day make us perfect.
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." -1 John 1:9.
"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? (2) God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?" -Romans 6:1-2.
