"One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts." -Psalm 145:4, KJV.

As a new parent, I'm beginning to understand the impact of verses like this. It is my responsibility to pass down to my son everything God has done for us and to keep God first in my home. This is a tremendous burden and responsibility (even though it is also a joy), simply because I know I'm human (as all parents are) and, therefore, fallible. We need to make sure the next generation is prepared to serve God throughout their lives. How else will they hear? Do we honestly expect the immature youth (as we all were at one point) of this day to pick of the Bible, study it in detail and follow God based on the fact that that's what they are supposed to do? This is foolishness! Remember back to your youth for just a moment. Everything was confusing (still is sometimes), and without guidance, we would not have understood God's goodness. Somewhere around you is one who needs to hear the mighty works of God told to them. Will you praise Him so they can learn?
