We cannot do evil and expect to be reward. The Bible clearly teaches the principle that you will reap what you sow. You cannot expect to get corn if you plant carrots (not that either one is bad--personally, I love both, just illustrating a point). Even though it appears that evil climbs up the ladder quicker, it does not last. Just as you do not want to rush climbing up a real ladder, you don't want to rush God in promotions, etc. You need to make sure you know what is going on in the level you're in before you can move on. However, if we do things God's way, then we will get firm foundations, and we will be able to hold our ground against Satan's attacks.
