"He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered." -Proverbs 28:26, KJV

This passage could not be any clearer against the stand that is so popular in our culture: trust yourself. The Bible tells us that if we do that, we're stupid! But walking wisely will allow us to be saved from our own stupidity. Proverbs 8 points out repeatedly that the beginning of wisdom is the fear of the LORD. So how do we keep ourselves from our worst enemy? Don't trust ourselves, but trust the very God that made us.
