"And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man." -Luke 2:51-52, KJVThese verses are right after Jesus stays behind in the temple at the age of 12, and right before His baptism around the age of 30. These verses essentially cover all of Christ's teen & young adult years. He obeyed His parents, and grew up--both in height and in knowledge. He was so focused on doing what was right (He had the advantage of being sinless after all), that His favor with God increased, which in turn increased His favor with man. How often do we try to skip the favor with God part? We need to be focused on increasing in favor toward God, and He will increase our favor with men.
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. -1 Corinthians 3:11
