Why the World Won't End This Friday

The Mayan calendar ends this Friday. So what? The calendar posted in my kitchen ends December 31, 2014. Does that mean the world will end? No! It just means that's as far as that publisher provided for. The Mayans probably figured they'd add more to the calender when they got to 2012. Leaving that argument alone though, in all seriousness, the world has at least 1007 years left to its life. First of all, Christians are still here, which means we haven't been raptured, which means the Tribulation hasn't started. The Tribulation will last a horrifying 7 years (see Revelation for more details), and then Christ will reign for 1000 years. So even if the rapture were to happen on Friday (although the Bible says no man knows the hour or the day of the Rapture), then the world would still last until a minimum of 3020 (or late 3019). So, don't panic. Just pray and wait like we have been for roughly 2000 years now. Jesus is coming, we just don't (& can't) know when.
